Parent + Baby Class Join us to be outside in nature, engage in developmentally appropriate activities with your baby, learn infant massage from an LMT and Certified Infant Massage Instructor, bond with your baby, and meet other families! Class is designed for infants ages newborn to 9 months, attending with a caregiver. We will meet once a week for 4 weeks, from October 7-28, from 10-10:45 AM at the Parklands. Details: Classes are held entirely outdoors, at Turkey Run in the Parklands (park by the Brown Foreman Silo, address: 8706 Stout Rd, Louisville, KY 40291) and go past the bathrooms and the barn on the left, and find us in the space on the side of the barn, just off the path. Bring a picnic blanket or yoga mat for you and your baby to sit on. Blankets will be spaced 6 feet apart so you will not need to wear a mask once you are on your mats! Your instructor, Evie Wilkinson, has a Masters in Teaching, is a Certified Forest School Teacher, and co-founded LEAP Outside to get children and families connected outside in nature. As Licensed Massage Therapist and Certified Infant Massage Instructor, Evie knows the importance of touch and is excited to pass on tried and true methods for caregivers to massage their infants. The benefits of infant massage include: decreased stress for parents and babies, better sleep and weight gain for babies, better bonding with babies, and can help with gas/colic. Other activities you can expect: songs with movements, using 5 senses in nature to explore environment in a developmentally appropriate way, build community with other families.
